The Russian entrant has confirmed Lynn's place in its LMP2 squad after a successful try-out with the team during a Dunlop tyre test at the Spanish Aragon circuit last week.
The Briton will drive the team's Oreca-Gibson 07, which will be supported by TDS Racing, alongside Roman Rusinov and Pierre Thiriet.
Rusinov, who puts together G-Drive's programmes, told Motorsport.com: "We had a big list of drivers for the third seat, but we decided to try Alex at the test and he did very well.
"Alex proved himself in single-seaters and then with Manor last year [during three end-of-season WEC appearances], but most importantly he understands the importance of team work."
Rusinov explained that he had no concerns about Lynn's lack of experience at the Le Mans 24 Hours, the double-points round of the WEC.
"John Martin hadn't been to Le Mans before, but put our car [then run by ADR/Delta] on class pole position in 2012," said the Russian. "I don't see Alex having any problems there this year."
Lynn will dovetail his WEC campaign with at attack on the Nurburgring 24 Hours as a factory BMW driver, two endurance rounds of the IMSA SportsCar Championship with Wayne Taylor Racing and his role as reserve driver for the DS Virgin Formula E squad.
He is however expected to skip the Nurburgring WEC round in order to be able to contest the clashing New York Formula E double-header for DS Virgin, which needs replacements for both regular drivers Sam Bird and Jose Maria Lopez for the Brooklyn race.
