Lakeville, Conn. – Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian will start the GRAND-AM Rolex Series season-finale at Lime Rock Park from eighth on the grid this afternoon (SPEED, 3:00 PM ET Saturday) after John Pew set a fast lap time of 50.423-seconds at the quick 1.53-mile Connecticut road course in this morning’s qualifying session.

Pew improved his lap-time each time by during the 15-minute session and will open the 2.75-hour race before turning the controls over to co-driver Ozz Negri who will take the No. 60 LiveOn Ford-Riley to the finish.

“The car is good - I was pushing as hard as I could,” said Pew.

“We had limited practice time with all the rain we had yesterday but I know this track well and I was getting faster and faster and figuring things out.

I think we’ll have a really good racecar for the race.”

The team is fresh off a fourth place finish in the previous round of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and would like nothing more than to finish the season on a high note with a return trip to the Lime Rock Park podium. Michael Shank Racing has stood on the podium in the previous two Rolex Series Lime Rock events with Pew and Negri finishing second last year.

“John did a great job,” said team owner Mike Shank. “He got better literally every lap and I think that bodes well for the race - for both John and Ozz. The car looks like it is getting better. It’s good so far so we’ll see what happens for the race.”

The season-finale event is set to go green at 3:00 PM (ET) this afternoon. SPEED will carry live coverage.
