The sport revealed on Monday that they have reached an agreement with 23 tracks to host Sprint Cup races for the next five years. NASCAR also announced that 24 tracks will host NASCAR Xfinity races through 2020 and will release the 2016 Camping World Truck Series schedule at a later date.

"In terms of the new sanction agreements, NASCAR and the tracks take seriously our collective responsibility to the fans and stakeholders to ensure the sport is healthy, strong and growing, so we can work together to deliver great racing to the fans for many decades to come," a release read.

"These five-year agreements provide the stability that tracks require to invest in the future while still providing the flexibility to work with NASCAR to adjust dates when beneficial to the sport. The agreements also allow NASCAR and the tracks to announce the schedule earlier in future years to enable fans, media and teams to plan trips and book hotels further in advance."

Dates moved, but no new venues for Cup Series

There have been no changes in venues for 2016 on the Cup side with a 36-race schedule once again, sans non-points paying events. As for dates moving around, there have been a few alterations. As Motorsport.com previously reported, Richmond International Raceway’s spring race moves from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon.

Dover International Speedway’s first race has been shifted to May, now immediately preceding the All-Star Race and Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The July Daytona race will also return to a Saturday night date after being held on a Sunday night this season. The second Michigan International Speedway event has also been pushed to later in the month of August.

The schedule for the Chase will look identical to 2015.
