ISR Racing did a really good job in the first testing session of the 2014 WsR by Renault season, held in Le Castellet on February 13 and 14. At the Circuit Paul Ricard, the renowned track in Southern France, the Czech team secured the top spots in the timesheets running team regular Jazeman Jaafar and Dutchman Nigel Melker, for the first time at the wheel of the Dallara prepared by the Prague-based outfit.

Malaysian Jaafar led the 2 days all the way through, being quickest overall on 3 out of 4 sessions, while Nigel Melker closed the two-day test with a very good feeling. The Dutch talent was at his first experience with ISR, but despite that his performances were impressive straight out of the box. His laptimes were worth the upper zone of the timing screens, and he managed that despite losing some valuable track time due to technical issues on his car. Overcoming the odds, Nigel showed his talent and adaptability by driving very strong lap times on both days.

"The feeling with the car was more than positive" Nigel Melker looked back. "There is still much to achieve, being this car quite different compared to the one I drove last year, but I can say that it really suits my driving style. I’m really pleased that ISR gave me this opportunity and I'd like to thank them for this. From both sides, this was a very positive test, and I’m sure I will fight for the title if I can do another year of World Series. The coming period will see me evaluate what my options are for the upcoming season. Exciting times are ahead, and I hope I'll be able to give you some good news soon."

"We knew the level of Melker's speed and racecraft since last year, being Nigel one of our competitors in 2013", added Igor Salaquarda, owner of ISR. "Nevertheless, looking at his performance from inside, we are even more surprised. His clear talent, his specific experience and his commitment would represent a strong combination for a title challenger." Jazeman Jaafar did an excellent job on his side, leading the chart for most of the time. He is working with us since the final test of 2013, confirming and even improving his performances."
