Czech Eduard Leganov has already been fast on the track in a Leipert Lamborghini in the FIA GT3 European Championship 2012. French Jean-Marc Merlin and Czech Jan Štovíček have already been part of the Team at the 24 h Dubai race in 2012 which they finished in 9th position.

New to the team this year are Canadian Jean-Charles Perrin and German Carsten Tilke. JC Perrin has already participated in several 24 h races and successfully took part in the NASCAR in Canada.

29 year-old Carsten Tilke has been successful in previous ADAC GT Masters series and has already won the 24 h Dubai race once in 2009.

This is the 8th time this unique long-haul event is held in Dubai over 24 hours, and it is the forth 24h race of the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 for rhino’s Leipert.

As last year already, the car bears the typical black/orange branding of the Leipert GT3 car. Apart from the logo of their long standing partner rhino’s energy from Munich, in 2013, the Lamborghini also shows the logo of partner KSI Germany (Kraemer Sonic Industries) from Herborn again.

Team Manager Ingo Leipert explains: ”For Dubai 2013, it is our goal to finish among the top 10 and maybe even to improve last year’s excellent result.

All drivers are very experienced and know exactly how important it is to show constancy and to drive the car in a resource-saving manner.

Whilst it is Merlin’s second 24h race with us this year, Štovíček has been our driver at the 24h desert classic now for the third time in a row.

After one year in the FIA GT3 series, Leganov is now competing for us for the first time in the 24h race as are Perrin and Tilke.

In the past few years, we have gained a lot of experience on the Dubai Autodrome, so we hope that this - combined with the speed and reliability of our Lamborghini - is the foundation of a successful first racing weekend of 2013.

The entire team enters this first race of the year highly motivated and in anticipation. Further information on our plans for the forthcoming season shall follow in due course, and sponsors can already look forward to a little surprise.”
