Code 3, a non-profit which concentrates in rescuing animals in disaster areas in the U.S. and Canada, will partner with the One Cure to support Patrick’s effort in the Monster Energy Cup Series at Kansas Speedway on May 13, at the Open at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 20 and the night race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Aug. 19.

Based at the Colorado State University Flint Animal Cancer Center (FACC), the One Cure initiative provides cancer research on pets in an effort to improve the diagnosis and treatment of animals and assist humans in the process.

The FACC treats over 1,500 animal cancer patients each year.

“We need a new way to find potential cures for cancer, and pets may provide the answer,” said Dr. Rodney Page, director of the FACC. “Cancer is cancer, so what is learned in pets being treated for cancer holds promise to benefit people and vice versa.

This approach is known as comparative or translational oncology, and it is the core of the One Cure concept. This partnership helps educate more people about comparative oncology and improves the lives of all cancer patients, whether they have two legs or four.”

A long-time animal advocate, Patrick looks forward to partnering with Code 3 and One Cure.

“I’ve given to all sorts of animal charities through the years, but One Cure is different,” Patrick said. “The purpose of One Cure is a game changer in finding a potential cure for cancer. Our pets are members of our families, and when they aren’t well, we want to do everything we can to help.

“Cancer has touched so many of us. Knowing we can use what we learn from keeping our animals healthy to potentially help save human lives is a cause I’m honored to support.”

Patrick will also enjoy the powers of Wonder Woman as her primary when she takes on the Cup tour Kansas and at Charlotte for the Open. She will run the livery in anticipation of the Movie opening on June 2
