The first race of the Silverstone GP2 Series weekend provided Trident Racing with some hard luck with both drivers suffering from bad circumstances in the 5th round of the 2013 championship. Kevin Ceccon, who was taking-off from 15th place, was hit from behind during the opening lap and had to retire on the spot. After starting in 13th, Nathanael Berthon finished in 20th. The British weekend of the GP2 Series will be completed today with the running of Race 2. Ceccon will be moving from the back of the grid in 26th, while Berthon will be in row 10. The start is set for 9:35 AM local time (10:35 in central Europe) with live broadcasts throughout the continent and beyond including Sky Sport's programs in Italy.
Nathanael Berthon “The race started in a positive way for me. I was fighting with other drivers that eventually ended up into the points zone, but then in lap 6 I came back to the pits for my stop. While the pit-stop was actually very quick, but after being back on-track my pace got worse. I suffered from the tire wear and the last few laps have been very tough to complete”.
Kevin Ceccon “My start has been pretty good, and I was in a typical first-lap battle. While braking for turn 16, I got hit and I didn't even have the time to try and keep the engine running. I found myself in the runoff area with no chances to rejoin. I want to take full advantage of tomorrow's race 2 in order to work on the car's set-up for the Nurburgring next week”.
