But that's it for us today - a race that, save for a slight midway lull, produced a display that will be hard to top in the coming months.

Thank you for your attention - this is Valentin Khorounzhiy and David Malsher, signing out.

What does this mean for the 2016 Championship? Well, not terribly much.

Hamlin's in and should get to relax some for the next 25 races, but his form today leaves little doubt that he would've had plenty more chances to make the Chase if he came up short in the opener.

Kenseth: "They don't get much more crushing than that. I saw Denny get the run, I really felt he was going fast enough and he'd get around me if I didn't block him.

"Could've finished second, but I went for it and came up short."

Hamlin: "This was a team victory - our teammates did a great job all day, working together.

"I don't know where that came from, I don't know where that came from, I don't know what I did - but it all just came together."

FedEx man delivered in fine style. And he did have an awesome run all day. There was nothing lucky about that win. More surprising is that Hamlin suckered Kenseth into an unnecessary block.
And so your top 20 behind the Hamlin/Truex blendathon, was Busch, Harvick, Edwards, Logano, Larson, steaming Smith, Austin Dillon, Kurt Busch, Newman (outta nowhere), Almirola, Kahne, a gutted Kenseth, McDowell, Johnson, McMurray, Menard, Blaney, Keselowski and Allmendinger.
Modern timing equipment prevented a repeat of the 1959 confusion when Johnny Beauchamp's Ford appeared to beat Lee Petty's Oldsmobile, only for the photo finish to swing Petty's way four days after the race.

Truex: "I did all I thought I could do. Really proud of that effort, of our first race with Toyota."

Says he should've run Hamlin higher up the track.

This is Toyota's first Daytona 500, this is JGR's first Daytona 500 win in ages and this is Denny Hamlin's first Daytona win.
Kenseth, who led comfortably at the line with one to go... he's 14th.
It's Hamlin - Truex - Kyle Busch - Harvick - Edwards - Logano - Larson - Smith - Austin Dillon - Kurt Busch.
Preposterously, appallingly close between Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex at the line.
Hamlin got a run on the outside, Kenseth went to block and got basically dumped.
DENNY HAMLIN, ON THE OUTSIDE LINE, HE DOES IT IN A THREE-WIDE.
2 to go - Have Truex, Busch and Hamlin got anything for Kenseth?
Now Harvick springs to the top lane but it's still not gaining on the Toyotas on the inside line.
JGR (and Truex) have monopolized the bottom line and there is no other line that's working.
Toyotas now occupy top 5 as Edwards moved ahead of Larson. Logano down to 8th.
Edwards' aero Hefti-bag is not hindering him much - he's still 6th.
8 to go and no one's making a decisive move yet. But damn, they're close and running 3-wide.
Kenseth, Truex, Busch holding on up front. Logano went to the outside and it didn't work.

So your top dozen at the restart will be…

Kenseth, Truex, Kyle Busch, Logano, Dillon, Hamlin, Edwards, Vickers, Larson, Smith, Harvick, Keselowski.

Someone who's risen subtly up the order has been Regan Smith in #7 Chevy. He's 10th ahead of Harvick and behind Kyle Larson.
Ford's best hopes now ride with Logano 3rd. Keselowski can work miracles, but probably not from 12th with 15 to go.
Car not looking great. She tried to squeeze Biffle to the inside line, got turned.
The #10 car has mowed the infield lawn quite nicely in an incident that went on seemingly forever
Finally Vickers can move down to inside lane but he's down in 8th tucked behind Carl Edwards
Truex hugging the rear bumper of Kenseth with Busch in third, Logano 4th, Hamlin up to 5th.
This is not going green for the remainder of the distance.
But now here comes Vickers into 2nd... but in the unfashionable outside lane and falling back.
Two-time Daytona winner Kenseth leads ahead of Truex and Kyle Busch.
