That wraps up our live text coverage of the Daytona 500, thanks for tuning in and see you next time. And congratulations to Joey Logano!
Hamlin, fourth: "Once the lead gets to three wide, you can't break through it. Gosh, I wish we coulda done something different because you've got a 50-50 chance when you start from the front row. Our line just didn't form very well at that restart, and that's what gave Joey the break."
Gordon: "For some reason I'm still smiling. I enjoyed the first half more than the second. We were controlling the race. Had one restart where we got shuffled back. It's been an amazing day. I'm in an incredible place, but I'm upset we didn't have a shot at winning. Congratulations to Joey. I'm not going to miss those final laps – that was just crazy!"
Earnhardt: "I just made a bad decision on that restart, somebody got on the outside and I got stuck in the middle. Thought I had an opportunity there. I think I had the best car, should have won the race."
Harvick, runner-up: "I really thought everything was lined up pretty well, I was trying to back-up to Junior on the backstretch."
Logano: "Clint Bowyer was the best pusher today, but I still can't believe it. It's funny how the team goes quiet when you're about to win the Daytona 500. This doesn't happen very often. There's so much build-up to this race, wow!"
Logano: "I can't believe it, it's absolutely amazing. It's awesome, the Daytona 500 – oh my God! I was so nervous. This is our weakest racetrack, so we worked really hard on our superspeedways."
Logano gets a good soaking as he exits his Penske Ford. High fives all around.
There must've been some worries when his teammate Keselowski blew his engine earlier on, but Logano pulled some great moves to get to the front.
That's his first Daytona 500 victory and a great way for Roger Penske to start the season.
Logano celebrates in time-honored fashion, some massive burn-outs in the tri-oval
So Gordon's final Daytona 500 ended in a wreck off Turn 2.
There was a backstretch pile-up, Austin Dillon hit Gordon, Larson was sent spinning to the inside.
Logano wins from Harvick, Earnhardt, Hamlin, Johnson, Mears, Bowyer, Truex, Kahne and Biffle.
Caution on the speedway! Logano wins!
Trouble at Turn 2!
Logano, Harvick, Earnhardt, Bowyer.
Harvick passes Bowyer round the outside for second. White flag!
Hamlin got a shocking restart.
It's the green-white-checker attempt one: Logano leads.
Hamlin and Logano – plenty of history between these two drivers. Will they keep it clean? Only a million and a half dollars at stake!
Cars are rolling again under yellow.
Logano will restart from the front row alongside Johnson. Hamlin and Truex share row two, ahead of Bowyer, Harvick, Kahne, Earnhardt, Gordon and Mears.
There are still plenty of big-hitters ahead of this shoot-out to the finish.
Some amazing three-wide racing for the lead before that, although Logano had made a powerful move to run out front.
The race has been red-flagged while the track is cleaned up.
Allgaier spun through the tri-oval.
Crash with 3 laps to go
Red flag!
Logano pulls an outside move at Turn 1, it doesn't work.
Then it's Kahne, Edwards and Bowyer.
Logano, Gordon and Truex are right in the mix.
This is a great race – but is disaster lurking?
Hamlin and Johnson are now out front, with the cars all three wide behind.
Truex, Hamlin and Johnson side by side!
Three wide for the lead!
Hamlin shoots to the inside at Turn 1 to lead, then Truex passes him!
It's still Johnson, Hamlin and Logano.
Truex has made a great move to grab second, but then stalls out and falls back.
Johnson runs a middle lane, then cuts across to cover Hamlin.
