Off track
Kyle Busch is reporting a "four-wheel drift" feeling in the corners.
The leading pack can actually see the Ford pack not far in front. Imagine they could put them a lap down? Ain't gonna happen.
Off track
Sounds like there's more refuelling issues with Hamlin. It sounds like he might not be getting all the gas he should at his pitstops.
And Elliott who took the last restart 34th due to having to pit twice is currently running 6th
We have two distinct races going on right now. The Fords versus everyone else.
DiBenedetto leads Kyle Busch and Bowman, in case you were wondering. But it's not a true reflection.
More pitstops now.
Hamlin has apologised for getting his strategy wrong.
Hamlin has hooked up with Kyle Larson, that's a bit of a life saver for him.
Biggest near-miss of the race so far, Hamlin tried to get in among the Fords and almost caused a wreck on the back straight. TV missed that.
He needs to jump on to that Ford train.
Hamlin pitting on his own, that could be costly with no drafting partner.
Pit stop
Hamlin was told to pit with the Fords, but he didn't. "What's the plan?" he asks. He's told he has to stop.
DiBenedetto leads, ahead of Hamlin, Busch and Bowman.
Pit stop
The Ford armada pits!
Breaking news
DiBenedetto leads the outside lane, and proves the theory that Kyle Busch shared this morning – if you side-draft the right-side of a car, it dumps all your air on to the wicker-less side of the rear spoiler. That's why you can stall a car on the inside lane easier than it is to stall on sticking to the top.
Hemric is the only Chevy driver in the Top 10
"Bottom is on a roll," Hamlin's spotter tells him.
Logano holds sway, from Blaney. Suarez pulls in behind in third, with Harvick next up. The Fords are hauling.
Di Benedetto is back in the leading contenders mix.
Some great racing here.
Logano fires off out front, as Harvick pulls in behind Blaney.
Three-wide further back.
We stay two-by-two.
Logano leads Suarez by a tick at the finish line.
Suarez leads thanks to Harvick. But here comes Logano.
But it's the outside lane that fires off!
Logano gets a good shove from Blaney. Shock.
Green flag
Here's we go again, green flag to start Stage 2 – another 60 laps.
Logano should have Blaney drafting assistance from this restart.
"Stay on the 22" Blaney's told. As if he needed to be...
"10-4" he replies.
We are one lap to go.
Hamlin is told he is short on fuel for this stint.
Logano feels confident after Stage 1
The field will restart in the order: Logano, Suarez, Blaney, Harvick, Hemric, Almirola and Menard. Plenty of Fords!
Half the field stays out, half dives to pit lane.
