Well, that is it for us today, from an exhilarating, forgive a cliche word, rollercoaster of a race.
Rossi deserved much better but, in his absence, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez put on arguably the greatest show of the season.

The crowd is probably going to boo the hell out of him on the podium, but Lorenzo doesn't care one bit.
He looked to be far from the quickest rider out there today, but he showed a brilliant resilience - and hanging on to the back of Marquez on the final lap was a masterful effort.

Jubilation from Lorenzo, a reasonably content shrug from Marquez. They're now 10 points apart in the standings, with Rossi a further 27 down.
This is Jorge Lorenzo's fifth win from the last six MotoGP races at Mugello.

The Honda rider has a serious look down the inside, but he can't beat Lorenzo under braking.
Final lap - Marquez a tenth off at the line.
Rossi or no Rossi, this has been a scintillating Italian Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, Iannone has retaken P3 from Pedrosa.

Marquez goes side by side with Lorenzo into Turn 1, but brakes too late - Lorenzo back ahead.
What a turnaround for Honda today - Marquez reckoned a podium would be a tough ask, but now both him and Pedrosa are in the top three - and the win is not out of the question.
Dani Pedrosa dives down the inside of Andrea Iannone for P3. He's been lining that up for a few laps.
This, perhaps, underlines how seriously lucky Lorenzo is that Rossi's bike called it quits - the Spaniard appears to be struggling for pace.
However, that's also, perhaps, a sign that Lorenzo is not entirely safe - Marquez is back with him again.
Marquez attempts a divebomb on Lorenzo, goes wide - that's a four-tenths gap restored for Lorenzo.
The race is slowly unravelling for poor Aleix Espargaro - he has now slipped behind Smith and Petrucci, down to P9.
Marquez looks to be seeing red - both him and Lorenzo go below the best lap of the race, and the Honda man is marginally quicker.
And that's Dovizioso's podium hopes over. He tried to have a look round the outside of Iannone at Turn 1 and instead ran well, well wide. Pedrosa storms past for P4.

Iannone dives down the inside of Dovizioso to retake P3.
A more cynical man that me would say that this has "another Ducati intra-team collision" written all over it.
And, wow, Dovi has taken his teammate down the inside of Turn 1! Where did that come from?
Credit to Dovizioso, who's found some pace in Iannone's slipstream.
Still three tenths between Lorenzo and Marquez, with six laps remaining.
Dovi's troubles almost certainly won't end here - Pedrosa is within a second and Vinales isn't far back.
But Iannone gets it down after all - takes the outside line into Turn 1, allows Dovizioso to run a tad wide and crosses over to the inside. Very calm and calculcated.
No "bike-to-pit" radio, of course, so Ducati can't tell Dovizioso to get out of Iannone's way.
And Dovi's not interested in doing so of his own volition.
