Spa WEC - Race

Live Text

The sun is dipping over the Ardennes forest, so we'll leave it there. Thanks for your company, it's been a blast.
Duval, Jarvis and di Grassi on the top step of course, flanked by the #2 Porsche crew and #13 Rebellion.
And the national anthem of Germany rings out for Audi on the podium.
Buemi was classified 26th in the Toyota, the first time a car has finished a WEC race with no functioning internal combustion engine?
Winner Jarvis after his first WEC victory with Audi: "What a strange race. We certainly didn't have the pace to win it. Others had misfortune. Hopefully it kickstarts our season."
We understand the #5 Toyota just completed a lap of Spa on hybrid power only, as its engine had expired.
Both drivers now sprawled over the car as Jarvis heads for Victory Lane.
Loic Duval on his knees as he welcomes Olly Jarvis back to the pitlane.
The GTE Am winner is Pedro Lamy in the #98 Aston.
And it's GTE Pro victory for Rigon in the #71 Ferrari after late heartbreak for the #51 sister car.
LMP2 is won by Lapierre in the #36 Signatech Alpine. Derani is second for ESM, ahead of Merhi (Manor) and Albuquerque.
Second place overall for the #2 Porsche, which was hobbled all day by hybrid issues. A superb third for Rebellion with the #13, with the sister #12 car fourth. Fabulous for them.
Merhi hits Albuquerque as he grabs third in LMP2.
And there we have it, a strange win for the #8 Audi – against the odds, it has to be said. But to finish first, first you must finish.
Here was that insane pass from Lapierre on Derani that won the LMP2 war...
The #5 Toyota has emerged from hibernation – in an attempt to gain some manufacturers' points.
The #86, the Gulf Racing Porsche, has a 30 second stop-and-go for a pitstop infringement.
This is an amazing LMP2 battle. A Ford GT is being obstinate – and Lapierre goes around the outside of both of them at Fagnes! He retakes the LMP2 lead.
Behind Derani and Lapierre, Albuquerque is not far behind!
There's a huge chunk of debris on the track on Kemmel Straight.
Lapierre has pitted the LMP2-leading Signatech Alpine. Derani now leads!
The #35 car has stopped trackside with that puncture.
Late, late drama with under 10 minutes to go. Calado looks devastated in the cockpit.
The #51 is going into the garage – it's smoking with nine minutes to go.
Rigon takes the GTE Pro lead! Into the pits goes the #51.
Suddenly it's game on in GTE Pro, with Rigon right on Calado's tail.
Lots of debris on track again, is that going to cause any more issues?
Now the #35 has a right-rear puncture.
