Trophy
Well that's it from us for the 2017 NASCAR season. We'll leave you with Martin Truex Jr. and Cole Pearn lifting the trophy after a thrilling finale.
See you in 2018 for more!
Quote
Cole Pearn, Truex's crew chief: "I think the 18 was actually a bit better than us, but Martin was able to dig deep and beat them. To call ourselves champions is unbelievable. To win all these races and the championship."
It's a huge achievement for Furniture Row Racing. Although it gets a lot of support from Joe Gibbs Racing, its core is a minnow by comparison.
Quote
Truex on his emotions at the finish line: "I couldn't even talk, you think about the tough times, when I thought my career was over, I didn't think anybody believed in me."
He lifts the very heavy trophy with Cole Pearn.
NASCAR chairman Brian France is going to do the honors.
Trophy
Truex is now in Victory Lane to receive a trophy that's almost as tall as he is.

Junior paid tribute to his team, then added: "I'm not sure what the feeling is. I didn't cry until hugging Rick [Hendrick]. The personal stuff, he's really helped me more than anybody will know and he's done that for a lot of people. I'll miss trying to make him proud on the racetrack."
Quote
Earnhardt Jr: "I had a lot of fun tonight, we were running pretty decent and right up on the fence, and I had a ball. We lost about 10 spots getting a flat.
"The deal with Rick was if I ended the race with the car in one piece, I'd get the car and Rick would get the helmet.
"What a story for Martin. I'm retiring and he wins the championship – that's storybook. I was happy for Martin, ran into his car. I knew I'd finish and meet in pitroad with my team and have some beers."

Truex joins the champions club of NASCAR's finest.
