Well that's it from us for the 2017 NASCAR season. We'll leave you with Martin Truex Jr. and Cole Pearn lifting the trophy after a thrilling finale.

It's a huge achievement for Furniture Row Racing. Although it gets a lot of support from Joe Gibbs Racing, its core is a minnow by comparison.

Junior paid tribute to his team, then added: "I'm not sure what the feeling is. I didn't cry until hugging Rick [Hendrick]. The personal stuff, he's really helped me more than anybody will know and he's done that for a lot of people. I'll miss trying to make him proud on the racetrack."

Earnhardt Jr: "I had a lot of fun tonight, we were running pretty decent and right up on the fence, and I had a ball. We lost about 10 spots getting a flat.
"The deal with Rick was if I ended the race with the car in one piece, I'd get the car and Rick would get the helmet.
"What a story for Martin. I'm retiring and he wins the championship – that's storybook. I was happy for Martin, ran into his car. I knew I'd finish and meet in pitroad with my team and have some beers."

On the cool-down lap, Dale Jr gave Truex a big bump in the door. For all the right reasons, of course!

For the record, Truex won from Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski.

Truex: "We just never gave up all day long. We didn't have the best car, but we dug deep and we dug deeper than we ever did before. They were all better than me all day long. I just made it happen. Just never give up. It's a dream come true. Just really thankful. I'm going to party it up tonight."
Truex joins the champions club of NASCAR's finest.
Dale Earnhardt Jr finished the race in 25th, in his final Cup start.
Martin Truex Jr. has won his first NASCAR Cup title. Kyle Busch finishes second with Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott the top five.

Truex had to win the race to win the championship, and he did so. By 0.681s.

Larson, in third, is now close enough to worry Busch.
