The NEXTEV TCR driver had been due to miss the Berlin race because of his Honda commitments in Japan, with sometime GP2 and Formula Renault 3.5 driver Ben Hanley named as his replacement.

However, with the Autopolis Super GT round postponed after earthquakes hit the Japanese island of Kyushu, where the circuit is based, Turvey is now available for the German Formula E race.

"First of all, my thoughts go out to everyone affected by the earthquakes that have hit Kyushu," said Turvey.

"It’s understandable that the organisers have had to postpone the Super GT race at Autopolis, but I hope we can race there later in the year for all the fans in the Kyushu region.

"It now means that I am available to race in the next round of the Formula E Championship.

"I’m looking forward to racing on this new track and will be pushing for a strong points finish."

Turvey currently sits 14th in the championship standings on 10 points, one place ahead of teammate Nelson Piquet Jr, having taken a best finish of sixth in the Beijing season opener.
