That said, Ocon said Max Verstappen lacked professionalism by confronting and shoving him after their controversial clash in the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Sky clarifies that it will not condone violence in any way!
Sky's Martin Brundle watches the shoving video and says "it's handbags at dawn, it's not really a proper fight is it?"

After the press conference, Verstappen tells Sky Sports F1: "The amount of risk he was taking, I don't think it's correct. Of course afterwards you can say I should give him room, but it's not usual you get taken out by a backmarker.

On his shoving match with Ocon: "We're all passionate about the sport, so it would be odd if I shook his hand. It was a stupid response from his side as well."

Sounds like the post-race press conference got quite tasty on the Verstappen/Ocon clash, we'll bring you all the latest from that soon...
Verstappen and Ocon have been summoned to the stewards.
Going back to the big story of the day, Max Verstappen labelled Esteban Ocon "such an idiot" for crashing into him as he was being lapped in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel: "All in all it was a bit of a tricky afternoon, not happy at all. Losing out on the constructors', and my race started bad and finished bad. We just didn't have the grip at the start, part of the game when you're on a harder compound. I had nowhere to go, Lewis and Valtteri worked together.

"We were not quick enough today."

Some of Ricciardo's overtakes today at Turn 1 were absolutely sublime, but we've come to expect that from him.
Fourth placed Daniel Ricciardo: "As soon as I crossed the line at the end I was so upset, the podium was so close. But I don't feel I lost a podium, I guess it's just built-up frustration. The battles through the field, I enjoyed them all."
Verstappen from the press conference: "I got taken out in Turn 2 in the lead. The penalty says enough, you know who's wrong in the situation. I was trying to do my race and a backmarker tried to race me and took a stupid risk. The penalty is I lost a victory."

Horner again: "We just want to finish on a high. Daniel drove a fantastic race. His move on Bottas was sensational. What a performance by him.

"Max has driven with great control and discipline, we had the strategy right, it's just a crying shame. Our race pace was better than we even anticipated."

Red Bull's Christian Horner: "The lead car has just lapped a Force India, you should not interfere with the leader. What Ocon was thinking there, it beggars belief. Why on earth is he racing the leader, chucking the car up the inside there."

Force India's Otmar Szafnauer: "Esteban came on the radio to ask if he could unlap himself and we said sure, go ahead. We had a tyre advantage. Max was gently bringing his tyres in. We had a 1.5sec advantage, so we had to do it.

"He asked us if I can unlap myself – he was unsure."

Ocon to Sky Sports F1: "I was two laps stuck behind Max. I was a lot faster, I had fresher tyres. The rules say you can overtake, clearly I was side by side, it's the same move I did on Fernando and many other drivers. I'm really surprised at the behaviour at Max, the FIA had to stop him from being violent at the scales. That is really unprofessional."
Allison adds: "We're very lucky with the driver partnership we have. Valtteri has been a huge asset to us, and his relationship with Lewis really helps us."

Mercedes technical ace James Allison: "An amazing group of people, I only joined in the last bit, but the skill and dedication to get all those ducks lining up in a row season after season is just incredible.

"We thought we had the competition punched down so many times, but they just kept coming back at us this year. Even right now. It's been so desperately close, the differences are tiny."

In contrast , great scenes in the Mercedes garage as a great team celebrates another championship.
Verstappen appeared to push him three times, Ocon seemed surprised and shoved him back a little at first. Oh dear, not cool at all. But we shall let the FIA deal with that.
We've seen a video from French TV of a physical confrontation between Verstappen and Ocon at the FIA weighing station...
A super drive from Verstappen, but as he said in parc ferme "we should have won today." He certainly had the pace.
And congratulations to Mercedes on the constructors' championship, another fantastic achievement by the Brackley/Brixworth squad. They truly are up there with early-2000-spec Ferrari. Bravo guys and girls!

Hello there! What an intense Brazilian Grand Prix that was – with Max Verstappen’s clash while lapping Esteban Ocon clearly the big talking point. But another victory for five-time champion Lewis Hamilton, in what was a truly great race we’ll be talking about for weeks!
