EKS celebrated a successful season finale at the last round of the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship in Argentina. In a breathtaking final at the Rosario Autódromo, Mattias Ekström crossed the finish line in second position, only 0.453 seconds behind winner Robin Larsson. The two Swedes battled hard during the entire six-lap race.

In the end, Ekström missed his second victory by a blink, after the stunning success on home soil in Höljes. The EKS team boss and driver secured silverware for the third time this year. In the drivers' championship, Ekström finished sixth overall –– as EKS completed the season fifth in the teams' standings.

"It was a crazy weekend in many ways," says Ekström. "I have never seen so much dust at a rallycross event before. Thanks to our good starts and pace, we leave Argentina with another trophy. I would love to win the race, but I'm happy with P2. In my opinion I was faster than Robin, but he gave me no option to overtake and after a mistake in the slippery joker lap, I lost too much time. Congrats to Petter Solberg, he deserves the World Champion title. We are proud that we beat him today and will enjoy the trophy and the good weather in now."

Anton Marklund made it to his sixth consecutive World RX semi-final and ended up in the tyre barrier. "I was P5 after the first two heats. Unfortunately in the third race I had some contact and due to the low visibility I was only P10 in the Intermediate Classification. Starting from the last row in the semi-final was tough. I pushed as hard as I could, but during the second last lap my race was over. On the dusty tarmac it felt like somebody ripped the carpet away from under my feet and I went sideways into the tyre barrier. The car is not too bad, but it's not the end of the season I hoped for. It's a pity."
