Third on Friday in Brainerd, Line is Ready to Move Up on Saturday

Jason Line and the Summit Racing team got their qualifying attempt at the NHRA Northwest Nationals in Brainerd, Minnesota off to a great start on Friday, tying his teammate Greg Anderson for low elapsed time of the round at 6.607, with Line getting the higher seed based on his superior top speed, with his 208.62 mark besting Anderson’s 208.46 speed. Although he bettered his opening effort in the evening session, tripping the finish line timers in 6.600 seconds with a track record top speed of 209.23 mph. Even so, the popular Minnesota pilot found himself in the third position midway through qualifying, setting his sights on improving during one of his final two sessions on Saturday.

“We made a good run in the first session, but our evening attempt wasn’t that good, so we certainly left a little out there,” said Line. “Still it was a decent run and day for this Summit Racing team, because we certainly have something we can work with tomorrow. The track has been pretty good on our two runs, which shows they did a good job of preparing it, so I think everyone should be happy.

“It’s also good to run in front of all your friends and family, and even though I didn’t have a chance to do a lot of visiting today, I’m looking forward to the rest of the weekend. It’s going to be fun.”
