Chevrolets get modifications
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (Sept. 24, 1997) NASCAR officials have announced a taller rear deck spoiler for the Chevrolet Monte Carlo for competition in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, effective with the opening of on-track activity for the Oct. 5 UAW-GM Quality 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Officials released a technical bulletin announcing a one-quarter-inch increase to the rear spoiler height, making the piece six inches high.
