2026 F1 championship standings: Antonelli grows points lead over Russell in Canada

After winning the Canadian GP, Antonelli extends his lead in the championship. Check out the standings in the drivers' and constructors' championships following the fifth round of the season in Montreal

Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes

By winning the Canadian Grand Prix while his team-mate George Russell retired due to an engine failure, Kimi Antonelli secured a decisive 25-0 victory. Already leading the championship, the Italian — who claimed his fourth consecutive win this season (and of his career) — extended his lead to 43 points over Russell.

Charles Leclerc remains third, but his team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who achieved his best result of the season, is closing in fast and is just three points behind. After his first podium finish in 2026, Max Verstappen sits in seventh place, but is closing the gap on Oscar Piastri. He is ahead of Pierre Gasly, the top French driver in the championship.

In the constructors’ standings, Mercedes scored the most points this weekend and remains in the lead, but Ferrari is just two points behind. In third place, McLaren still holds a comfortable lead over Red Bull. Cadillac and Aston Martin have yet to score a single point.
