Latifi is quickly up to speed with a 1m22.063s to slot into seventh in the overall times, leading the early efforts from the afternoon-only runners.
Zhou is also on the timing sheet now with a 1m25.469s as he adapts to life as an F1 driver. Steady away.
Timesheet-topper Ricciardo has come out for his first run of the afternoon, looking to carry the fine form McLaren has shown so far in Barcelona.

Verstappen blasts "very unfair" decision to drop F1 race director Masi

Away from the on-track action, Max Verstappen feels it was "very unfair" Michael Masi was removed as F1 race director following the 2021 Abu Dhabi controversy. Here's the full story: https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/verstappen-blasts-very-unfair-decision-to-drop-f1-race-director-masi/8459196/
Ricciardo's closest rival from this morning Sainz has handed over driving duties to Ferrari team-mate Leclerc who gets his afternoon running underway.
Leclerc duly completes his opening five-lap salvo with a personal best of 1m24.565s to go P12.
Vettel is a lonely figure on the Barcelona track currently, not that he'll mind too much, as the rest of the runners take a breather in the garages.
Vettel has company on track once again as Gasly, Zhou, Leclerc and Ocon get going again.
Russell gives it a 'Stars In Their Eyes' entrance as he emerges in a cloud of smoke from the Mercedes garage. Nothing to be too alarmed about, the Merc has been doing it fairly frequently during testing without any signs of trouble.

F1 teams set for crisis meeting to discuss Russian GP

Mazepin makes a belated start to his afternoon action having missed more than an hour already. Haas team-mate Schumacher enjoyed largely trouble-free running this morning, so the team had made a good start on catching up from yesterday's issues.

Some gills have appeared on the Mercedes engine covers, similar to those spotted on the Aston Martin and others. Well, it is testing after all.

Red flag! Mazepin has come a cropper on the track.
Our initial suspicion was Ricciardo may have caused the red flag as he dramatically eased off the gas going down the main straight just moments before, but it is indeed Mazepin who has stopped in sector two.
Mazepin has been given a lift back to the Haas garage in a circuit marshal car. I wonder how much that taxi fare is.
Mazepin's Haas has been collected and cleared, still awaiting news on the exact cause of the stoppage, but the track action will resume at 15:37 local time.
And away we go again! Latifi and Ocon nip out straight away, quickly followed by Leclerc and Vettel.

Ricciardo is also back on track and begins his first timed effort since the red flag tailing Leclerc on the main straight. As was the case yesterday, the drivers are very keen to see how the cars behave when following.

Haas says a damaged fuel pump caused Mazepin to stop on track earlier.
Leclerc moves up to P5 on the overall times with a 1m21.764s.
Vettel is the latest improver, putting in a 1m22.840s to move up to P13 overall.

F1 teams underestimated 'porpoising’ potential, says Ferrari

Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto says Formula 1 teams underestimated the potential for the new ground effect cars to suffer from 'porpoising'. Here's the full story: https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/f1-teams-underestimated-porpoising-potential-says-ferrari/8460144/
Russell steps up the pace in the Mercedes with a 1m21.890s on the C2 tyres to go P6 overall.
We have our first driver centurion of the day: Ocon shoots past the 100-lap mark for Alpine and is about to be followed in the feat by Gasly for AlphaTauri.
Gasly delayed his 100-lap milestone having pitted at the end of his 99th - what a tease. Despite the two red flags today it has still been a strong mileage day for Alpine, AlphaTauri, McLaren and Ferrari.
Vettel is another driver notching up good mileage this afternoon, as on his 44th lap he chips away at his personal best lap time with a 1m22.750s.
Mazepin is back out on the track after his earlier Turn 9 stoppage. Haas will be relieved the damaged fuel pump hasn't cost too much valuable track time, having only lost an hour.
Mazepin moves ahead of Zhou with his first timed effort since returning to the action. The Haas puts in a 1m23.524s on the C3s.
....make that a 1m22.429s on Mazepin's next lap around, which seems him go P12 overall.

After 47 laps of consistent but unspectacular times, Vettel has popped in a 1m20.784s on the C3s to go fourth overall for Aston Martin.

After a lengthy delay in the garage following the earlier stop on track, Perez is back in action after a few exploratory laps for Red Bull. Not the smoothest of days for the team after some impressive running on the opening day.
Latifi and Mazepin had been running nose-to-tail for a couple of laps to provide some racing-but-not-really action, until the Haas driver backs off and returns to the pits. It was fun while it lasted.
Timesheet-topper Ricciardo is on his 103rd lap which puts him equal with McLaren team-mate Norris's tally from yesterday and there is still 75 minutes of track action to go. Not too shabby.
We have a new fastest lap of the day! Leclerc pops in a 1m19.804s to go top for Ferrari, setting the lap on the C3 tyres.
A couple of personal bests follow quickly after Leclerc's, with Gasly putting in a 1m20.542s and Zhou slotting up a 1m22.888s.
