This stands as the 34th GP victory for reigning World Champion Lewis Hamilton and his second win at Melbourne.
Raikkonen, Verstappen, Grosjean, Maldonado, Kvyat, Magnussen failed to finish the race.
Jenson Button is 11th and the last classified driver for McLaren-Honda.
Ricciardo finishes sixth, ahead of Hulkenberg, Ericsson and Sainz, also scoring in his GP debut.
Felipe Massa finishes fourth, followed by fellow Brazilian Felipe Nasr, scoring points in his debut.
Flawless drive from Hamilton, who wins from Rosberg, and Vettel, on the podium in his first race for Ferrari.
Ericsson passes Sainz! The Swede is now eighth, and Sauber is having a fantastic day after such a difficult weekend.
Rosberg 1.8 seconds behind Hamilton with two laps left. Only a mistake could rob the world champion now.
Three laps to go, and the fight between Sainz and Ericsson is still to be decided.
Button running some three seconds slower than the car ahead. But he is out of the points anyway.
There is a big battle for P8. Ericsson right behind Sainz.
Rosberg now closes in on Hamilton. 1.7 seconds is the gap, but Hamilton seems very much in control of the situation.

Felipe Nasr is still in fifth. Impressive performance by the rookie in his first ever F1 race, especially considering Sauber's legal problems on Friday. €
Still a positive race for Button and McLaren-Honda considering the Briton had not done more than 12 laps in a row before.
A scare for Button, who has gone off the track momentarily.
Massa is pushing hard to try to catch Vettel with 11 laps left.
Button is out of the points again after being overtaken by Perez.
Up on front, Rosberg is 1.7 seconds behind Hamilton, but the Briton seems to be in control.
Replays of Raikkonen's pitstop show an apparent problem when dropping the Ferrari. Loose wheel, perhaps.
Only eleven cars left, and Button is  now in the points.
Meanwhile, Jenson Button€ continues to run in P11, still over 20 seconds off the points.
Perez's pitstop has promoted Sainz back into the points, in P10.
Meanwhile, Felipe Nasr€ is under intense pressure form Daniel Ricciardo€, both fighting for sixth position.
Perez is still holding on to 10th place despite not having pitted. We are on lap 39 of 58.
