Russian Drift Series 2014: Let's furidashi!
The level of drift in Russia and the number of participants have increased in recent years.
Moscow - Drifting as one of the most spectacular motorsport disciplines is very popular in Russia. New season of Russian Drift Series, official championship with 6 rounds held in such cities as Moscow, St.Petersburg, Kazan, Smolensk and Nizhniy Novgorod, starts this weekend May 10 in Moscow.
The level of drift in Russia and the number of participants have increased in recent years. In addition, public interest is getting higher - each event of Russian Drift Series gathers thousands of fans and spectators. Drift сchampionships in Russia are the united under the brand of RDS and also held in other regions of Russia - Ural, Far East, Northern and Western Russia. RDS Organizers closely watch the experiences of Japan and the U.S. in order to make Russian drift to meet the best world standards and to create its own plan for the development of Russian drifting competitions.
New season of RDS is going to be even exciting - more spectacular pair races, more smoke and higher speed. That is why the motto of the season is "Let's furidashi!", because furidashi, fast and aggressive drifting, is the main element of the competitions.Pilots have already prepared their drifting cars and after a long winter break, they are ready to fight for the Best Russian Dritfer title in 2014! Last year series champion, Eugene Ruzheynikov, who already won the first event of the year - Open Drift Championship, held in Moscow on May 1, is preparing to defend his title. His competitors are more than 40 of the strongest pilots, Russian drift stars, such as Eugene Satyukov, Nikita Shikov, Alexei Zlobin, Andrei Bogdanov and others.
Alexander Smolar, the Organizer of RDS: "Russian Drift Series is unique championship: we took the best of American and Japanese drifting as I attended the most popular events both in Japan and the USA. I think that our series it's a kind of an excerpt from the best that has been created in drift all over the world. We tried to develop in this direction. Our main task is to make the most memorable and entertaining show, that everyone will enjoy!"
