GT World Cup in Macau confirmed
The famed Macau street circuit venue is to host a spectacular end-of-season GT3 event that promises to attract a world-class entry.
The mooted season finale GT World Cup in Macau has been confirmed by the FIA at yesterday’s World Motor Spot Council in Geneva. The event will be held on 19-22 November.
The FIA is currently seeking promoters for the venture which will be run for GT3 cars and be part of the legendary Macau GP meeting.
Macau has become a popular GT3 venue with a well subscribed GT Asia series round held in recent seasons.
Last year’s race was won by Maro Engel in a AMG Driving Academy Mercedes SLS AMG GT3. Other drivers competing last year included Earl Bamber, Laurens Vanthoor and Danny Watts.
The sporting and technical regulations for the event are set to be unveiled shortly.
