iSport Complete Final Test In Barcelona

iSport concluded pre-season testing in Barcelona today, confident they will be prime contenders in the much anticipated 8th GP2 season, which starts in two weeks’ time in Malaysia.

Both iSport drivers had a great start to the 3 day test, with Jolyon Palmer taking P2 in the earlier session on Day 1, and team mate Marcus Ericsson P3 in the afternoon. Cold temperatures on Day 2 gave the team the opportunity to focus more on race simulations and set ups, using both the Pirelli Prime and Option tyres. The final day saw the team complete their programme, with the main focus long runs and pit stop practice. Both drivers ended the final session completing a high number of laps and within the top half of the grid.

“The team have had a good test in Barcelona and worked through a comprehensive programme, trying many options and understanding the tyre characteristics. Both drivers had some impressive race simulations and have worked well together and are proving to be closely matched. We now look forward to the first race with optimism.”

The team will now have a short break before the opening of the 2012 season at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia on 23-25 March 2012.
