Raikkonen says he has no problems with team orders

Raikkonen was told to let Vettel by in the European Grand Prix as he had a penalty, but the time he lost ultimately put him closet to Sergio Perez, and contributed to him losing third place.

"I don't disagree with the decision, because obviously I had the penalty," said Raikkonen. "The end story would have been the same anyhow.

"I think we could have done it slightly better – I don't have the answer how right now – but I just felt that I lost a bit too much, I lost 2.5 seconds on that lap, and obviously my race was against Force India to try to keep them five seconds away.

"I think in the end it didn't make an awful lot of difference. There was nothing wrong with the decision itself, it's just that we could have managed to do it losing slightly less on my side."

Raikkonen did a long 43-lap stint on the soft tyres after pitting on lap 8, but he had no complaints about the strategy.

"The plan was always one stop, then depending on where you are, and many things like always.

"There were some people coming from behind so we had to put the car where we thought we don't get penalised too much with the traffic, and still be able to overtake. The tyres lasted pretty well, I wouldn't say there was an awful lot wrong in the end.

"The guys who stopped later had fresher tyres, so it will help, but there was nothing major with the tyres. In the end I think I could have kept the Force India behind, but the end result would have been the same, there was no point to make any big fight."

The Finn said that the team still has a lot of work to do to be competitive in all conditions.

"If you take purely the result in the last couple of races I would say that we were closer in Canada than here.

"But then it seems to swap between different circuits a lot, and different conditions, so for sure not the easiest weekend for us. There was quite a lot of struggling with certain things. In the end we turned it around.

"But for sure we have quite a bit of work to be done to be able to challenge them, every race, every condition, it doesn't matter we go. It varies a lot on places, layout, conditions. To be really comfortable, to really challenge them, for sure we have things to improve."
