Not that there was much doubt, but here's your weather update for this session. Risk of rain is, unsurprisingly, 0% and air temperature is currently approaching 32 degrees C. So, hot, but perhaps not as stifling as Qatar last time.

So, as a reminder, this Friday practice session - the only one of the whole weekend - takes on extra significance. Expect drivers to scurry out of the pits when the green light shows in just under 10 minutes.
What's more, the Circuit of the Americas has a reputation for producing interesting races over the years. And, that is just as well considering we've got two contests this weekend as it's the latest of F1's sprint events!
Now, this year's F1 drivers' and constructors' titles may be all wrapped up but there is still plenty to play for. The battle to be best of the rest in each championship could well go down to the wire and these remaining five races can give the teams useful experimental time ahead of next season.
