Lap 25/71

Bearman comes out in ninth, behind Bortoleto - Antonelli must have found quite a lot of time with that undercut, so the new medium seems to be bedding in reasonably well.

Russell stops from fourth, and comes out ahead of Piastri - who was held up by Albon. That's worked out nicely for Mercedes.

Lap 26/71

Norris remains 13s in the lead over Leclerc, who in turn is 13s clear of Verstappen. Tsunoda is fourth, another 12 behind.

Sainz gets a five-second penalty for speeding in the pitlane, while Hulkenberg retires - we heard on the formation lap that his powertrain felt a bit dodgy.

Lap 27/71

Bearman has got stuck behind Hadjar now, but should be able to break past...

Lap 28/71

...which he does, but Antonelli needs another few corners to clear Hadjar to ensure the Haas driver gets a 1s break ahead.

Norris has a 14.5s lead out front over Leclerc - both are yet to stop.

Piastri is about to come through and clear Bortoleto.

Lap 29/71

Piastri indeed gets back past Bortoleto, while Russell clears Hadjar for eighth.

"The car is jumping in the pitlane," Sainz reported during his stop, which seems to have caused the speeding penalty.

Piastri is now about to clear Hadjar, and indeed does at the start of lap 30.

Lap 30/71

Piastri is now back on Russell's tail, while Hamilton needs to clear Hadjar now to get on terms with this battle.

Leclerc is going to stop for mediums soon.

Lap 31/71

Norris is 17.5s clear of Leclerc - who indeed pits at the end of the lap for mediums. This should clear the decks for McLaren.

Bearman clears Tsunoda to go up to fourth.

Lap 32/71

Leclerc comes out ahead of Bearman, but only 2s ahead. But he's stabilised to ensure there's no further deficit on cold tyres.

Lap 33/71

Norris, yet to pit, is 28s ahead of the yet-to-pit Verstappen.

Antonelli and Russell clear the yet-to-pit Tsunoda, who now has Piastri on his tail.

Lap 34/71

Piastri passes Tsunoda now to get up to seventh. Hamilton is next up to clear the Red Bull driver - who is going very slowly.

Norris pits for mediums, and that's a reasonable stop. He'll come back out in the lead, 8s to the good over Verstappen.

Lap 35/71

Russell says he has more pace than Antonelli, angling for a swap - he's told that he's free to go and get the position himself.

Sainz is up to 11th and now sits behind Bortoleto. Alonso, meanwhile, looks like he's going to retire for the third Mexican GP in a row.

Lap 36/71

Russell is told to manage his brake temperatures, although the Mercedes driver is keen to jockey for a podium.

"I do need brakes at the end of the race," says engineer Marcus Dudley. He can't save too much, however, as he's got Piastri on his tail again.

Lap 37/71

Tsunoda is in the pits and collects the soft tyre - but he's now down in 15th place. Verstappen now stops.

"I've got a McLaren up my arse, want me to let him overtake," Russell says, unhappy with the calls on the pit wall.

Lap 38/71

Verstappen comes out in eighth, eight seconds behind Hamilton.

Russell continues to ask for a way past Antonelli, but the request is apparently denied. He has to keep defending from Piastri.

Lap 39/71

Norris is 17s up on Leclerc now, who in turn is 4s up on Bearman. Bearman is keeping enough of a vigil on Antonelli for now, but may need to find a bit more of an opening to ensure he keeps third place safe.

Lap 41/71

"Marcus I've got a **** car up my ****", Russell says as he's asked to keep rear tyre temperatures down.

Mercedes makes the call to swap positions, and Russell will now go and chase Bearman for third. This leaves Antonelli having to defend from Piastri.

Lap 42/71

Norris to Leclerc is now sitting at 19s. Leclerc to Bearman is 4.5s, with Bearman 2s over Russell. Antonelli and Piastri are within DRS.

"To help the other side, would you prefer the soft or the medium?" Norris is asked. Presumably, McLaren might pit Piastri to take a soft if he can't clear the Mercs.

Lap 43/71

Further down the order, Colapinto is the only man yet to stop - he's still on the hards he started with.

Verstappen is closing in on Hamilton now.

Lap 44/71

Albon's going a lot quicker now he's equipped with softs - those hards looked rough to start with. "Just ask the other car, what is the balance now?"

He's 13s behind Tsunoda having just done the fastest lap.

Lap 45/71

Russell might need to back up a bit to save Antonelli from being eaten up by Piastri here. The McLaren driver is now very close to the Italian teen.

Verstappen is almost a second behind Hamilton.

Lap 46/71

Norris is 20.6s up the road on Leclerc.

Verstappen will get DRS on Hamilton soon, as the Ferrari driver has the slower tyre on...

Lap 47/71

Piastri is asked if he wants to stop, and the pitcrew comes out - but Piastri stayed out.

Verstappen passes Hamilton for seventh, and he'll get up to Piastri shortly. Hamilton will duly stop, presumably for softs.

Antonelli AND Piastri stop - but who comes out first? Piastri does - as Antonelli had a slow stop. Hamilton also gets the soft.

Lap 48/71

Piastri, Antonelli, and Hamilton will have to clear Ocon before they catch up to Verstappen again.

Russell is going to stop - Bearman is responding to this too and collects softs.

Lap 49/71

Ocon puts Russell under scrutiny, but can't find a way past into Turn 1. That puts Ocon on the back foot, and both Piastri and Antonelli get through.

Lap 50/71

Norris and Leclerc are separated by 23 seconds. Verstappen is 12s behind Leclerc.

The two-stops here have really shaken this up - and Russell is closing on Bearman.

Lap 51/71

Russell has cleared Piastri through that phase, with the gap now up to 3.5s.

Leclerc is told he's staying out to the end, although Verstappen is slowly chipping away at the Ferrari driver's lead.

Bearman is going to come under attack from Russell soon - Russell has DRS.

Lap 52/71

Russell is now within that second of Bearman, who doesn't seem to have great pace on those softs as it stands. He's slowly closing Verstappen, but it's a 15-second gap at the moment.

Lap 53/71

Sainz might have another pit-lane speeding investigation coming his way...

Debris at the final corner has been reported - but I couldn't see much.

Lap 54/71

Bearman just found a bit over Russell, but couldn't break the DRS gap before the detection zone.

Verstappen is catching Leclerc - he's now within 10s.

Lap 55/71

Bearman sets a good lap to ensure Russell doesn't have DRS this time around. Piastri is slowly reeling in the Mercedes once again.

Norris is 26.2s up on Leclerc now - that's almost a free stop.

Bortoleto and Hadjar are battling for the final point.

Lap 56/71

Bearman's picking up the pace now and he's trying to chip away at Verstappen's advantage ahead - Verstappen is only 8s behind Leclerc now.

Sainz gets another drive-through penalty - bet he gets a speeding offence for that.

Lap 57/71

Piastri's got DRS on Russell now, so the hunter will now become the hunted.

Bortoleto is continuing to sit within DRS range of Hadjar.

Lap 58/71

Verstappen is told Leclerc is gettable at this stage. "Let's go, that's why we go racing". 6.5s the gap now.

Russell's picked up the pace to try and shake off Piastri.

Lap 59/71

Piastri again gets close to Russell, but can't find a way through at Turn 1.

Verstappen is now within 6s of Leclerc now, so that could be the fight a bit later on.

Lap 60/71

Norris is 27.8s clear of Leclerc now.

Piastri stabs past Russell at Turn 1, and collects fifth place for his efforts - and DRS on the getaway ensures that Piastri has fifth locked down. 2.5s now to catch Bearman.

Lap 61/71

Leclerc picked up the pace a little bit to try and cover off the Verstappen threat late on - but the Red Bull was still half a second quicker.

Antonelli suggests that Mercedes should swap the positions back now, as Russell is just ahead.

Lap 62/71

Antonelli gets let through by Russell, so he's free to chase after Piastri if he's got some pace.

Bortoleto clears Hadjar at Turn 1, and moves up into 10th. Ocon is 3.8s up the road.

Lap 63/71

Verstappen is now within four seconds, with eight laps to go.

Bearman is going to come under pressure from Piastri soon, as the Australian is picking up the pace.

Lap 64/71

Norris is 28.3s clear of Leclerc, who is now only 3.3s clear of Verstappen.

Bearman is closing Verstappen a little bit, with Piastri 2s behind him now.

Lap 65/71

Norris has some battling traffic to deal with - Hadjar got passed by Albon, and now lets Norris through.

Verstappen is 2.5s behind Leclerc.
