After a qualifying session where the “A” drivers showed all their talent to put the cars on the front of the grid, the race lived up to the anticipation, despite a Safety Car start under torrential rain. The three-way Ferrari/Mosler/Porsche contest went ahead, with the Audi R8 and Silhouettes as outsiders. After a thrill-packed finish, the Ferrari took the honours despite the considerable talent of Raymond Narac.
