ARCA's 2018 schedule includes return to Charlotte on Coke 600 weekend
ARCA released its 2018 schedule on Wednesday and it includes a return to Charlotte Motor Speedway during Coca-Cola 600 race weekend.
The race at Charlotte will take place on Thursday, May 24 following Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series qualifying. It be the 21st ARCA event at the track but the first following a 14-year hiatus.
“Charlotte Motor Speedway is all about entertaining the fans, so we’re thrilled to add ARCA racing to our lineup of unmatched motorsports entertainment,” said Greg Walter, the speedway’s executive vice president.
“The ARCA Racing Series has showcased some spectacularly successful drivers in the past like Joey Logano, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson.We’re sure that another rising star will make a name for himself on our world-class stage during pole night next May.”
The ARCA schedule features 20 races including a mix of superspeedways, intermediate tracks, paved short tracks and dirt tracks. The series will also return to Gateway Motorsports Park for the first time since 2007.
The series will kick off the 2018 campaign with the 55th running of the Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona on Feb. 10. And for the seventh consecutive year, the ARCA champion will be crowned under the lights at Kansas Speedway.
The series will race at conjunction event venues with all three of NASCAR’s national series as well as the IndyCar Series.
