Montreal, January 20, 2014.– Canadian driver Kuno Wittmer will start his 2014 season at the upcoming Rolex 24 (January 25-26), the debut race of the new 12-race TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.

The Rolex 24 at Daytona will signal the start of the second full season for the SRT Motorsports Team’s 2014 Viper GTS-R racers at this top level of prototype and GT racing in North America.

Canadian driver Kuno Wittmer will be aboard the No. 93 Viper, his second year with the front running team. Preparation for 2014 started mid-way through the 2013 season as the team integrated the lessons learned at the races as the team became more competitive and made its way to the front of the GT field, achieving one win and two additional podium finishes over the season.

The drivers were kept fully occupied during this preparation period. The Montreal-based Wittmer really enjoyed all the work. ‘’Between the physical training sessions, meetings with engineers to analyze our 2013 performance in-depth, running three multi-day test sessions, and extended sessions on our simulator, there was not much time left for any R&R over the winter break.’’

More training and simulator sessions are planned right up to the opening of practice on January 23. As the Kuno added, ‘’We need to complete our physical buildup and the team will be putting the final touches on the car based on what we learned during the early January test sessions. We were right up there with the competition during those tests. I am sure that the other teams are also working hard, but we have a great bunch of people and I know we will be right up there at the end.’’

Kuno and the SRT Motorsports Team will be on track on January 23 for practice and qualifying. The 24 Hour race will start at 3pm on January 25.
