But the 33-year-old Frenchman admitted that he will turn it down, as his year is already too busy.

Duval will compete with Audi in the WEC and with Dragon Racing in Formula E, leaving him with no room to add a third series to his schedule.

"I have an offer on the table to do it this year but with this [Formula E] and WEC it is definitely too much," Duval told Motorsport.com.

"It could work on the calendar if I missed one race but honestly I do not want to travel that much in three series.

"If you do too much it gets hard and tiredness gets harder and harder so I won't do it."

Duval was crowned the 2009 Super Formula champion and raced for eight seasons in Japan, but his love affair with the country will only extend to the Fuji 6 Hours in October this season.

"I love Japan, I love the people, the culture, and I lived there for eight years, it was fantastic," he said.

"But now I have kids and the family has to take some priorities. It is a fantastic series with great cars, teams and drivers but for me WEC and Formula E is enough this year."
