EFFORT Racing continues its pursuit of excellence with its entry into the Pirelli World Challenge series as a Porsche Motorsports customer team.
EFFORT will field two cars in the GT class using the Porsche 911 GT3 R which has proven to be one of the most successful cars ever developed for the race track.
The driver lineup will consist of Tim Bergmeister in the GT class and Michael Mills in the GT-A class. Bergmeister with his proven expertise in the GT3R on the international scene and Mills with his consistent performance in the North America IMSA GT3 Challenge series will strongly represent EFFORT Racing and Porsche in the quest for the championship.
“We are very excited to align with Porsche as we pursue our next step in development of the EFFORT Racing program with the great competition in the Pirelli World Challenge series,” says Emile Toups Team owner. “Porsche has provided invaluable support on the journey to make our goal for a world class program a reality.”
"With Pirelli World Challenge’s recent homologation of the Porsche 911 GT3 R, it is great to see an experienced team like Effort Racing coming to the table with a two-car entry," said Jens Walther, President & CEO Porsche Motorsports North America, Inc.
"We are optimistic that the Effort Racing team of Tim Bergmeister and Michael Mills can add to that legacy that Porsche has established in Pirelli World Challenge with multiple championships over the years."
“Year after year the Pirelli World Challenge is attracting a growing list of strong, top-notch teams, drivers, and manufacturers that want to compete in the series,” said Scott Bove, President and CEO, WC Vision. “We are excited to have the EFFORT Racing Team partnered with Porsche confirmed for our GT competition starting in 2014.”
