CARL EDWARDS – No. 60 Fastenal Ford (Finished 4th)

“Man, I really wanted to win this race. We got pushed back with the pit road penalty and that made the night tougher. Then we got all the way back up there and I thought we were going to have a shot there at the end. It really set me back when I raced Leffler for 30 laps at a time each time we got to him, so that kind of kept me from having a shot at the leaders at the end. Even then, watching those two guys come to the finish I thought that anything could happen. I was digging to the end and I really wanted to get a win for Fastenal here. This is a fun race and I learned a bunch for tomorrow night so it is a good night overall.” YOU HAD FOUR FRESH TIRES AND THE 30 WAS ON OLD RUBBER BUT THAT DIDN’T MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE DID IT? “Yeah, it didn’t really make much of a difference, especially where he went and ran against the fence. It was very hard to get by him. You can do that here now with the line being that wide. I am frustrated with him right now but it is hard racing and I am just glad we made it to the end and made up those spots I cost us on pit road. Overall it was a good night but man I wanted to win this race.”

RICKY STENHOUSE JR. – No. 6 Fastenal Ford (Finished 11th)

“That was awful. It was our worst performance of the year. We struggled from the time we unloaded up to race time. We totally missed it. Cars that beat us shouldn’t beat us and shouldn’t run in front of us. We have to go to work. We can’t be showing up with race cars like this. We have to do better, we have to show up with the cars we had in the middle part of the summer so we can win this championship. That right there is not going to get it done.”

TREVOR BAYNE – No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford (Finished 13th)

“I thought we were going to have a good day when we were driving up through the field there for awhile. Past half way we were up to fourth and then got it up to second and I was thinking it was going to be awesome. Then we kind of fell apart at the end. We got the car too tight and then we had a mistake on pit road. We had an easy top-10 going and without the mistake on pit road and without dialing the car out the last stop there, it is hard to make up ground, even if you are faster than the guy in front of you. We struggle with the same issues in the race that we did in practice so we have to get better at that. It was a decent day and the first time with my new crew chief and he did a good job. Having Fastenal on the car was cool, it is too bad that one of the cars couldn’t get them to victory lane though.”
