Conor Daly will take part in the first two days of official GP3 testing, February 21st/22nd in Estoril, Portugal at the wheel of one of the new generation ART Grand Prix cars. GP3 cars have been heavily upgraded for the coming season with the 280 HP four cylinder turbo engine being replaced by a 400 HP V6 normally aspirated unit. With significant aerodynamic upgrades the new cars are expected to be up to four seconds per lap faster.
"The new car should be a handful with all that power," said Daly. "Although we have not put our full program together yet, I did not want to miss any of the new car testing with my friends at ART Grand Prix (formerly Lotus GP)."
Daly has had a busy winter contesting the Indian based MRF Challenge Championship, which he won after winning the final round in Chennai on February 10th. "My winter has been a bit hectic and my travel schedule to India a little crazy but I can't wait to get back to European testing," said Daly. "India was a really unusual experience for me but the testing and race mileage I got was well worth the effort. Now its back to what we might call normal."
