After switching to 'supersoft' sets of tires all drivers managed to cut few tenths of their lap times. Lewis Hamilton did this job best of all with a lap time of 1:42.113. His teammate was only 0.083sec behind. Most of the drivers continued to work on their programmes with 'soft' tires after the 'supersoft' stint.
McLaren rookie Kevin Magnussen gained some speed and clinched third position on the timesheets.
Fernando Alonso didn't set a time due to an engine failure in his F14-T.
Will Stevens learned the car a bit but nonetheless was more than 1.5 seconds slower than his teammate.
