Mowlem, RAM mates take two class podiums at Silverstone
Driving two identical Ferrari 458 Italias, Mowlem and his teammates started on pole in the GTE class and then took two of the three podium finishing positions in class.

SILVERSTONE, U.K. -- Johnny Mowlem and his Ram Racing teammates made a point during the 3 Hours of Silverstone European Le Mans Series race Saturday.
Driving two identical Ferrari 458 Italias, Mowlem and his teammates started on pole in the GTE class and then took two of the three podium finishing positions in class. It was an outstanding piece of work for a new team.
“It was a very difficult race because we started on slicks and literally, on the formation lap, it started raining and was treacherous,” Mowlem said. “I was going to pit, but [eventual class winner] Nick Tandy in the Porsche got past me. He didn’t pit so I decided to stay out as well but I probably should have actually pitted at that point, rather than the following lap, but we weren't to know that there would be a safety car a minute later!
The aquaplaning started about 25 minutes towards the end of my stint; I managed to keep going although the conditions were terrible on track.”
Mowlem handed the car to co-driver Matt Griffin 80 minutes into the event, one lap later the safety car was deployed because of the heavy standing water on the track.
The race would actually finish behind this same safety car as the race was eventually red flagged early, just after reaching 70% of race distance, giving full championship points to the teams for the race.
"Matt did a good job just to keep the car on track behind the safety car, as I know how bad the conditions were out there, and they weren't getting any better with the constant rain!" said Mowlem.
“The most important thing is that we’ve got two great podium finishes and no damage to the cars. That’s no mean achievement in those conditions.
Our teammates in the 53 car (drivers Gunnar Jeanette and Frankie Montecalvo) did a great job to take third position and we are looking good for the team championship with this result. We are looking forward to Imola very much now!”
A Ferrari victory at Imola? Now that would be something the celebrate.
