Audi announced their plans to enter two of their R18 e-tron quattros in the Twelve Hours of Sebring but one of the Audi 2012 champion drivers is missing in their lineup: Andre Lotterer.
For this reporter, that seems a bit odd considering the German is one of the three drivers for the Audi works team who earned the inaugural FIA World Endurance Championship in the #1 the Audi R18 e-tron quattro powered by the TDI 3.7L Turbo V6 Hybrid Diesel.
Marcel Fässler, Benoît Tréluyer and Lotterer also claimed their second-consecutive overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year.
The entry list for Sebring lists Oliver Jarvis as the third driver in place of the German hot-shoe! Lucas di Grassi, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish set to pilot the other Audi entry.
The reason why Lotterer is missing will be discovered but rest assure, the two times Le Mans winner will race at the historic June classic. Plus Lotterer and his two cohorts have been named by Audi Sport to defend their WEC title this year.
One can only guess that he already had a commitment to race in Japan when Audi confirmed the two Sebring LMP1 entries.
