Conquest Endurance looks to bounce back at VIR

Alton, Virginia – The Conquest Endurance team will look to turn its luck around this weekend at the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron VIR 240 after a difficult event in Baltimore where a penalty and eventually a suspension failure kept them from taking the victory after leading comfortably. The team, and drivers Martin Plowman and David Heinemeier Hansson will make their first visit to the Virginia International Raceway this weekend as they look to capture their third win in their rookie American Le Mans series presented by Tequila Patron season.

In what has been a season long championship battle with the Level 5 team, Conquest comes into VIR twelve points behind the leaders with two events left in the 2012 season. Rookies Heinemeier Hansson and Plowman will both be making their debuts at the South Virginia track, but with this being the inaugural ALMS event at the circuit, they will be in a more even footing with their competitors than they have been during most of the season.

Conquest Endurance has had an impressive rookie season with their Morgan-Nissan P2 prototype. After a long open-wheel career, the team made its sportscar debut this year at the 12 Hours of Sebring and since then has scored two victories (Mosport and Road America), two pole positions (Mosport and Road America), four second places, and two third places, giving them a perfect podium finish record for the year.

David Heinemeier Hansson Driver #37 Conquest Endurance / Morgan / Nissan Dunlop "I've never been to VIR, but it looks like a great and fast track. It'll be a lot of fun to really stretch the legs of our Morgan-Nissan. We had a dominant run at Baltimore that was cut short by a faulty penalty and a mechanical issue. Hopefully we can repeat the pace with none of the problems this time and return to the top step of the podium."
