SEAT Sport aims for victory at Zandvoort with five car team

Eight weeks after the opening rounds in Curitiba, Brazil, the 2007 FIA World Touring Car Championship begins its summer tour of Europe, starting with Rounds 3 and 4 at Zandvoort, Netherlands (May 5/6). SEAT Sport will be aiming for victory, as the WTCC debut of Tiago Monteiro boosts the official team to five cars.

Gabriele Tarquini (Italy) and Yvan Muller (France) were SEAT Sport's top points scorers in Rounds 1 and 2. As first non-BMW drivers (behind Augusto Farfus, Andy Priaulx, Jorg Muller) in 4th and 5th positions in the Drivers' standings, both their Leons will carry 20kgs of success ballast. The twisty Zandvoort circuit layout will suit the Leon's superb chassis, but the abrasive surface could make tyre wear on all the front-wheel drive cars an issue, and carrying extra weight won't help. Nevertheless, both drivers are confident of achieving more good results.
