Polestar Cyan Racing has completed a series of "promising" tests with its new Volvo S60 machine in Italy in preparation for the 2016 WTCC season.
The Swedish outfit had three drivers on site, Thed Bjork, Fredrik Ekblom and Robert Dahlgren, as development drivers.
The team has not yet confirmed the final drivers for the 2016 season, but stated that the identities will be revealed ”before the end of 2015”.
”We have taken steps forward with the car from our initial tests. This is of course very early days yet, but what I have experienced so far is really promising,” said Bjork.
The tests were held in Italy, and Polestar Cyan Racing team manager Fredrik Wahlen states that the development work is going according to plan.
”We have been able to complete our test schedule according to plan and without any major problems so far, providing us with a lot of answers to the questions we have," said Wahlen.
"The development phase is still in the early stages where we are currently creating a foundation for our WTCC assault.
"We have the majority of development work still ahead of us, but it is of course rewarding to start our test programme in a positive manner."
Polestar Cyan Racing will run two Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 cars in the 2016 WTCC, and has stated its intention to expand to further cars in 2017.
