SECOND-LAST SEASON MEETING
Oschersleben signals the countdown for hopefuls aiming to win the SEAT León Eurocup title
The SEAT León Eurocup competition is resuming activity after its summer break at one of its traditional venues - Germany's Oschersleben Motorsport Arena. Fifth on the race calendar, this weekend's race will be the second-last event of the season, so the points in play in Oschersleben will be especially significant, and the drivers vying for the title will have to come up with a precise race strategy
With only the slightest point spread among the three drivers that currently lead the general standings going into the fifth race, Michael Rossi, Gabor Weber and Eoin Murray, the 40 points still up for grabs between this weekend's races and the last event in Valencia put several drivers still in the running to win the title. The next six competitors must also be reckoned with, namely Alexander Dudukalo, Lourenco da Veiga, Andrea Larini, Ricardo Bravo, Felix Duarte and Diego Puyo.
The close contenders will match their skills on a short track (3,696 m) which is completely flat, where the curve located at the end of the finish-line straight-away is usually the critical spot that decides the fate of drivers' key positions in the race. Twenty drivers have registered to compete at this meeting.
