The Three Cruzes In The Top Four In First Taste Of Japan

Huff fastest, Muller 2nd and Menu 4th in dry testing session in Okayama

OKAYAMA, 29th October 2010 - The Race of Japan, the penultimate round of the WTCC 2010, started with a 30-minute Friday testing session, which allowed participants to start working on set- ups on the demanding and technical Japanese track.

In a dry and cool afternoon, the Cruzes achieved an excellent team result, with the three cars in the top four and Rob Huff on top of the rankings, with over a half)-second margin on Yvan Muller. While this was essentially a working session, the result is definitely encouraging ahead of a week- end which will be crucial with regard to the battle for the two titles. At the moment, Chevrolet and Yvan Muller lead the Manufacturers' and Drivers' standings, respectively.

QUOTES

Rob Huff (1st): "I am very pleased with the team result today and, of course, with my personal performance as well. The Cruzes were quick and responded well to the set-up modifications that we introduced during the session. This is a circuit where finding the ideal balance and set-up is quite difficult, and a very hard track for front tires, but we are definitely working in the right direction".

Yvan Muller (2nd): "We had a positive session and the team has been very calm and efficient in approaching the work to be done on the cars in this circuit, which is definitely a kind of its own. We still have a lot of work to do, but we are definitely off for a good start of the week-end".

Alain Menu (4th): "The main take-away of this session is that the Cruze is competitive on this track and that we should be in a position to have a strong team result over this week-end. The car is still oversteering a little bit too much in fast corners and understeering in slower parts of the circuit, but we already improved during the session and we will continue working to find a good balance".
