The FIA, the championship promoters and the Event promoter have unanimously agreed to cancel all track activities on Friday, 8th April at the Monza Circuit.

The decision was taken out of respect for the national mourning day, declared by the Italian Government for the funeral of His Holiness, Pope John Paul II.

The event will resume on Saturday, 9th April as originally scheduled.

Jacques Behar, Chairman of KSO commented: "I wish to thank the championships' promoters - SRO, Alfa Romeo and Maserati - the Event promoter, all staff at Monza Circuit and KSO, for all their efforts in making this emergency change possible. A change that, we believe, is fully respectful of the tragic death of Pope John Paul II."
