Münnich Motorsport starts final spurt of the season in Shanghai

Aim on points and third position in the team rankings

Friedersdorf/Shanghai (rol/ot) The German Team ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport from Friedersdorf starts its final spurt in Asia at the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) this weekend (2nd/3rd of November). At the second to last season event in Shanghai (China), the runs 21 and 22 are scheduled. Two weeks later the racing stable from Saxony will travel to the grand finale in Macau (15th to 17th of November). After six weeks of autumn break at the WTCC, the three drivers in their Seat Leon race cars – the British Rob Huff in the car with starting number 1, Marc Basseng (#38) and René Münnich (#37/both Neusalza-Spremberg) – as well as the whole Münnich crew are looking forward to the last four races of the season.

„We want to gather pace once again to finish on positions at the front of the field and score a lot of points in Shanghai. It would be very nice to score a podium placing again“, the team principal and racing stable owner René Münnich said. „We definitely want to secure our third position in the team rankings, the Yokohama Teams' Trophy, and we want to be on the podium at this valuation at the end of the season.“ Rob Huff is the best Münnich pilot on position seven in the drivers ranking of the world championship. Marc Basseng is on position 13. René Münnich is on position 13 of the private drivers ranking (Yokohama Drivers' Trophy).

The 4.603 km long „Shanghai International Circuit“ hosts the WTCC for the second time now. On the in 2004 dedicated Formula 1 track that is located in the suburb Jiading, almost to the day one year ago Rob Huff (that time in a Chevrolet) won one of the two WTCC runs and scored the fastest lap time as well. „Certainly not a bad omen for the second to last world championship season event in Shanghai. But the track do not fit our cars. But we will try to do our best out of the situation“, said Marc Basseng, who is driver and the team manager of Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport.
