STARTING OFF AGAIN... WITH A NEW HELMET!
After unwinding in Val Badia last week, now the time comes to prepare the luggage to Curitiba. I will put on it my new racing helmet that friends from Kaos Design prepared for me as usual in a record time. The design is a way to make a virtue of necessity since the new carbon vault, required by FIA, arrived just a few days ago and there was not enough time to paint it as usual on the chrome base.
While I was talking on the phone with "Lucky" debating what to do we had breakthrough and the idea to dedicate it to Bimbingamba that in their first year awarded with a smile more than thirty kids: I am happy that the graphic result matches up the project I decided to dedicate it to.
Regarding sport: we are really at the starting line. Eventually we will know where we are performance-wise and where our rivals are. This is an important turning point: new rules are meant to compensate, not better, but at least in a more sportive way than in the past, the performances of different brands and I am pretty sure that racing for BMW will be, once again, guarantee of competitiveness.
My favoured one for the first green light of the year is definitely Augusto Farfus. He will be really motivated for his home race, but all the other BMW standard-bearers will not stand waiting, especially my new team-mate Sergio Hernandez that I discovered faster and more precise than what I thought. The ruling champion Muller with all his mates will satisfy our curiosity showing us the real potential of Seat, that has been hidden for the whole winter. I hope that we won't be in a mess!
Chevrolet seemed to be in difficulty during tests that we did together but the team and drivers have enough talent to astonish anyone since next Sunday.
Finally, I think that my ex-team mate, Porteiro, will have a chance to do well with Proteam's car that at Curitiba has always been fast; scoring no kilometres during winter will not help him but I wish best of luck to him too.
We will see how it goes: forecasts foresee hot weather and a lot of humidity, conditions that suit my driving style better than the rain expected on Sunday afternoon.
That's it for now, I hope to come back from Brazil black with my suntan and not with rage!
