The penultimate round of the FIA WTCC 2012 held in Shanghai ended with a podium each for team ROAL Motorsport's drivers.
Coronel obtained a positive fourth place at the end of an eventful race one, while in race two the Dutch driver tried to get the most out of the pole position taking the lead of the race.
The unstoppable recovery of Chevrolet was not far away and Coronel had to give the lead away but managed anyway to finish third in the final standings.
Positive also his race two that saw him gaining positions up to the final ninth place, which was fourth in the Independents.
Tom Coronel strengthened the fifth position in the absolute classification where he has now 199 points; ROAL Motorsport keeps the lead of the Yokohama Teams' Trophy and reaches 166 points, that is 18 clear of Lukoil Racing Team.
Alberto Cerqui is seventh in the Yokohama Drivers' Trophy with 64 points.
Roberto Ravaglia (ROAL Motorsport, Team Principal): "I'd say that we obtained the highest possible result, considering that finishing right after Chevrolets is equal to a victory in this moment.
Despite Tom started race two from the pole position, we knew it would have been really difficult to keep the lead until the chequered flag on a circuit where overtaking is relatively easy and the initial laps confirmed this.
On a more driven circuit things might have gone differently as BMWs defend themselves better on such layouts.
Our objective for Macau is to get the Yokohama Teams' Trophy and to contribute to the second place of BMW Customer Racing Teams in the constructors classification".
The FIA WTCC will resume next 18 November for the final round of the season on the street circuit of Macau.
