The Honda Civics were able to get closer to the Citroëns in Argentina.
For the next WTCC event at Beijing Goldenport (October 5), the Honda Civic and Chevrolet RML Cruze cars will run on different weights compared to the latest meeting in Argentina.
According to the calculation of the Compensation Weight based on the three previous events – Moscow Raceway, Spa-Francorchamps and Termas de Río Hondo – the Citroën C-Elysée remains the reference model and receives once again the maximum compensation weight of 60 kg in addition to the minimum weight of 1100 kg.
No changes as well for the LADA Granta cars that will keep on running with no handicap weight on board. The Russian vehicles have showed a significant increase in pace at Termas, which resulted in a reduction of the gap calculated on the basis of the three latest events from 2.2 to 1.9 seconds.
The Honda Civics were also able to get closer to the Citroëns (from 0.7 to 0.6 seconds) and this resulted in their Compensation Weight being increased from 20 to 30 kilos.
On the contrary, the gap between Citroën and Chevrolet RML expanded from 0.5 to 0.7 seconds, meaning that the Cruze cars will benefit of a 20-kilo break, carrying 20 extra kilos instead of 40.
