MARCHIORI SWAPS DIESEL FOR ALSTARE

Maurizio Marchiori, who has worked for Diesel for over seventeen years - is joining Alstare, the motorcycle racing organisation based in Belgium. He was Communication Director worldwide since 1989 and then Vice President of Marketing, Diesel USA - a post he held for five years. The 52-year old Italian decided it was time for a new challenge. Marchiori will officially start his job as Alstare General Manager on 10th October.

Maurizio Marchiori
I have known Francis (Batta) for many years and recently he contacted me and offered me this opportunity. It was a difficult decision to leave Diesel - because of the good relationship I had built up over the years with the company and particularly with Mr Renzo Rosso - but my new job allows me to follow my passion. Racing is in my DNA, so this job is a tremendous challenge and enables me to work in the area I love. I am proud to be part of the team and hope to contribute towards their future success

Francis Batta (Alstare Team Owner)
I am delighted that Maurizio (Marchiori) is joining us and know he will be a great asset to the company. I have known him over sixteen years and it will be a pleasure working together. Everybody aspired to the work that he and Renzo Rosso did at Diesel - it was a benchmark for others to chase.

Alstare are at a crossroads and it is my belief (and philosophy) that we need to develop and grow as a company. I have made a big personal investment this year and have increased the staff in key areas. Now we need to asses our situation and take advantage of it so that we will be bigger and better in the future. Maurizio will help us achieve our ambitious goals.
