HAGA IN POLE POSITION, NAKATOMI 19TH

On Friday, Nakatomi was 19th of the first timed session, the track being wet and cold. On Saturday, there were still some wet spots on the tarmac and the temperature was again relatively cold, so it was impossible to be quicker.

Noriyuki Haga was the fastest in Superpole on his Yamaha R1 with a time of 1'38.444, which is the new unofficial record of the track of Magny-Cours.

Shinichi Nakatomi: "I have been unlucky during the first qualifying session. Every time I went on the track to do a quick lap, it started to rain again. My lap time was not good enough. Today the conditions were better, but not enough to go faster. I have just been unlucky."

Martial Garcia (team-manager): "The weather conditions have been a problem. It rained often and we could not go as fast as we did during the tests (1'41.0). The second timed session was cold and wet, so it was not possible to go faster. Potentially, Nakatomi is able to finish is the top 12 of both races."
