WRC French rally seeking new home for 2015

The event will no longer take place in the same location.

The governing body over French motorsport (FFSA) ruled that the loss of funding meant the end of the event in Alsace, and so, the search for a new host location begins.

The WRC has run in Alsace since 2010 and was popular being Sebastien Loeb's home. Following his exit from the series though, the event lost its luster. Prior to 2010, the French rally took place in Corsica.

FFSA Statement

"The FFSA executive committee would like to point out that the organisation of a world championship rally demands three prerequisites: the financial participation of the territorial authorities, the support of private partners and the right sporting, promotional and popular dimensions linked to hosting such an event on French territory."

"The executive committee acknowledges that the first condition is no longer met by the Alsatian territorial authorities."
